erratic idiling

As above. Anyone had this? Car seems to be misfiring. My bro put a itg replacement filter on the car for me, and since then the rev's go up and down, and then the car cuts out. I know where the idle control valve is, but would'nt know where to start. If that makes sense? Is it a replacement job or something came loose? that can be fixed?

There is a hell of a lot of information on this topic if you want to do a search. Could have knocked something or caused an air leak with the ISCV, yes. Take it off, carb cleaner it, replace and check all air hoses along the line.

If it's misfiring, check the spark plugs aren't swimming in oil.
