Just a quick question please .. On the Powerflex site it says this fits only the Williams edition. Why is that ?

I think they're wrong, right ? but I wanted to check before I bought one for my 16v

Cheers,

David :)

I think you're looking at the poly bushes for wishbones/ARB, they are Willy specific.

The dogbone one fits willy and valver:

And all other Clio Mk1. For example, I'm using now Williams dogbone in my Clio Mk1 1.2. (55 HP was too much for the standard 1.2 dogbone mount :D)

it fits 16v and williams, not sure on others.

It was designed around the dogbone mount on my cup race car a good 4 years ago now.

They are probably just being cautious as it certainly doesn't fit some valvers. I bought one and as you can see in the pic the dogbone was narrower than the bush.

In the end I just bought a Williams dogbone and it fitted that fine, but I'd measure yours first as I butchered the bushes in a perfectly good valver dogbone before I found out it was different!

I think they were designed around a genuine mount, I've noticed some none genuine mounts are thinner than OE ones

Mine was a late model valver. I've owned it for about 15 years now so I'm sure that the dogbone was as it came out of the factory, but it is possible that towards the end of production they switched to a different design or even started just chucking on dogbones from another model that they had stock of at the time! When I first found it didn't fit I asked around on here and every Willy plus all the valvers that replied (which might have all been Phase 1, iirc) had the 'okay' dogbone, so I'm sure it's quite rare. I was just thinking that the OP might want to measure before ordering just to make sure, otherwise he'll have the additional hassle I had of trying to get a bigger bush into a short hole - and then having to buy a new dogbone to take the bush. I don't have the new dogbone and bush handy at the moment (car is away) but I can probably measure up the 'wrong' one if you need, OP?

both the dogbone off my old williams 3 and my valver are a different style, both are genuine parts although not sure if original but they were defiantly different styles

They designed it around a valver bush. thats what i sent them. It was from a K reg valver. I do remember some discussion when these first came out with some people struggling
