View Full Version : What's next after the Williams?

Well I sold my Williams 2 almost 3 months ago now. The idea was to sell the Williams and my A4 Tdi (which sold over 4 months ago!) and combine the money to buy one newer car.
I had my mind set on a Maxda RX-8, but wanted an ultra-low mileage mint example. After 6 weeks of searching, nothing suited, despite going to look at 3 cars all over the country. I then almost bought a E46 M3, but was a day late and missed it! I then decided that a M3 would be the next car for me, but haven't been able to find the colour combo/spec that I want in my price range (although there are plenty of black/blue/silver cars that would be suitable, just don't appeal).
What cars have other people gone for after the Williams? I sold the same Williams about 3 years ago, and then missed it and bought it back about 9 months later. At this rate, I can see the same thing happening again!
ive had a 16v since which alot of my williams moved over onto after its death, had a 182 aswell for a couple year but now got a disco and the 16v
another williams??? maybe oneday who knows lol
Williams then 172 then Trophy.
How much are you spending? About 6k?

I love the Trophy and have always wanted one when it wasn't possible. Now it is possible, I want something bigger :?
I'm looking in the region of £10-£12k as a max, but having said that, if I could find something to keep me happy for less, that'd be a bonus! The RX-8's I was looking at were in the £7k-£8k range

Oh, and I had a 172 after I sold my Williams in 2005.... that was what bored me and made me decide to go back to my old Williams then

what colour combo you looking for in a m3 then? i used to have a pheonix yellow and kiwi.
loved the attention - best car i will ever own no doubt.
If i do get another car like that it will be a 4.5 cerbera but that seems a long way off at the moment.

I'm after Phoenix Yellow with black, not a fan of the Kiwi really. That in itself is a hard enough combo to find, but then when you add in to the mix the 16:9 nav and 19's, all on a well looked after car and a sensible price, it seems impossible.
If I let my heart rule my head, I would get a Clio V6, but its just too impractical for an only car

i wasnt really a fan of kiwi untill i went to see the car. Car was mint so would have bought it no matter what colour but ended up loving the combination. Mine had the 19" but only the 4:3 sat nav as it was too early for the widescreen.

Love the E36 - same engine as my MCoupe - long throttle travel means am always a little surprised at how quick it actually is when you really bury it :D
I've never driven an E46 - is yours smg, and if so what do you think of it?
