on my way home from work this evening.
i take the usual route home.. through the city centre
heading out of the centre you get taken onto a dual carriage way closely followed by a set of traffic lights as soon as you exit the island
i pull up in my 205
a sri vectra cd (red TI) pulls up next to me with two old school chavs in ! burberry hats the bleeding lot
the vectra passenger window rolls down !
i wind mine down
the driver says "yo geeza wats wid all da roll bars"
not sure what to reply to this i said "safety...... i guess" shrugging my shoulders
he swiftly replies with "yeah but its a sh*tty old french car"
that was it then.. i was GOING to make this guy feel as stupid as humanly possible for coming out with that remark..
determined to defend all us lovers of retro french cars, i respond with " we shall see"
as the chavs rolls his window up he says " LETS HAVE IT THEN" as he chuckles to his friend who looked alot like devvo from fatpie
the lights turn green ITS ON
as i expected.. he completely cains the living daylights out of his car off the lights.
i casually roll off the line (even then keeping up with him)
i casually stroll up beside him roll my window down.. the passenger of his car rolls his down
i say "im only half throttle mate.. is that all you can do" (really rubbing it in at this point)
i hoof the beast.. leave the kid for dead
i slow down (let him catch up)
look right.. and smile at him
started getting a bit childish giving him the LOSER sign (my car brings out the child in me sometimes)
hoof it again.. up to a speed i wont mention, slight left hander take it without a hover of the brake
island coming up.. nothing coming.. little throw left.. then right again then left once more to come off the exit.. (polybushes, 306 bilsteins, 1.5 of neg camber, lowered and 285 mm gti180 discs and callipers make the 205 handle epicly!)
i look in my mirror and the vectra is no where to be seen..
i chuckled to myself "rubbing the dashboard of my car.. so proud of her"
just wish something a bit more of a challenge would have a play with me :(
its all fun and games anhialating (sp?) things like that
but its nice to have a play with something thats going to remotely close
