Hi guys

after owning a few cars since my last clio im looking to come back to the clio fold

Im after a clio williams and looking to part ex/swap my uk spec subaru impreza 1999 on a t plate

here is the full rundown.

Here we have for sale my 1999 Subaru Impreza UK Turbo 2000 in sonic blue( same colour as the p1& 22b)
The car came from Ireland before going to stan palmer subaru dealership from there the 1st lady owner bought the car had it untill last year and now I am the 2nd owner.

1999 (T) Subaru Impreza Turbo 2000
sonic blue 4 dr Salloon (2.0 turbo)
103 k on the clock
Drives excellent and without fault
Just had a set of new rota Gra 18 inch alloys with new tyres(1 slightly curbed)
New NGK irridum plugs
New magnecor red leads
New crystal sidelights
New clear wing indicators
New 4 pot brake re furb by godspeed brakes about 6 weeks ago
New pads and drilled + grooved discs all round
Fresh Dot 5 brake fluid
3inch Fujitsubu cat back system
Serviced about 500 miles ago (3months)
Iam second owner on this car!

Bad Points and every car has them.

1) Being 10 years old she does have the odd scuff on the bumper and car park ding(Dent) that is easily sorted.

2) The last Owner lost the service history but they bought the car from stan palmer and They could be contacted to trace the cars history.
I do have all the previous Mot's bar 1or 2 to confirm milage and history and new duplicate service history book.(empty)

3) Little bit of piston slap from cold which goes when warm (Common fault with these cars due to design) but engine is sweet.

4)The bright switch just stopped working but is easy fix.

I did forget to say I would take £2200 as minimum for the car or a swap for a williams clio.

What's piston slap? Looks very nice by the way, seems a very low price though?

As the engine is a flat 4 the pistons dont go up and down they move side to side and when the engine is cold basicly is sounds like ticking sound which should go when warm if not trouble.

Its very common on most imprezas especialy high milers means nowt though tbh the downside is to get rid of the noise you have to rebuild the engine.

Piston slap is also very common on uprated subaru forged internal engines.

If you do mate be careful. The bottom ends are like chocolate, when you do a oil service its always best to disconnect the crank sensor, fill the oil filter then topping the oil to full level then cranking the engine over still with crank sensor off.
Main reason for that is there is a shortage of oil in the pick up pipe and this can lead to killing the shells as you fire up the engine due to oil starvation.

Also make sure you check the exhaust and upipe they tend to rattle a lot and rust the upipes get brittle with age and are a total nightmare to sort out.

Gearbox wise look out for clutch judder as classics are prone to it.
