I'm restoring a 1995 Clio 16v for my brother. I've bought a F7R bottom end. Full spec of engine will be:

Lightened & Balanced F7R bottom end
ARP stud kit
Ported 1.8 head with 33mm valves
Port Matched inlet manifold
Custom tubular exhaust manifold
De-Cat
Stainless exhaust (rear box only)
Huge Pipercross Induction kit (with cold air feed)

Think thats about it. What ECU and chip do I need? Can a carrier be added to the stock ECU for an upgraded chip?

Stock ecu can be used, talk to summy about his gunner chips, he runs a similar engine setup, so should have a chip for your needs

as stated stock ecu can be used and once chip desoldered then a carrier can be soldered in and ur new chip plugged in, twat of a job as covered in loads of protective varnish which get under chip and can make it difficult when trying to remove so if you have any doubts get someone to do job for u, tv repair shop good option and carrier available at maplins for bout 20p each
