View Full Version : Low down torque increases

I have a decat and bigger bore exhaust as many of us have. As you know, there is a gain to be had from this in mid range and top end but it does rob the F7R of the low down pickup.

Is there any other mod I can do which will recoup some of the lost torque? Would fitting an aftermarket manifold such as a K-Tec or Supersprint help? Or induction kit?

I may be having my spare 714 meggy head ported etc and may fit that with the 33mm valves. How will this effect torque?

Cheers!

when i fitted my scuttle induction kit i definately noticed more pull low down and stronger all the way through the rev range IMO

Yea I know, it was designed to adress that very issue with the valver F7P. I dont want one though :(

Dyno tuning? To shift the high-end a bit lower.

All valid options. I was hoping for a bolt on solution. I have much thinking to be done regarding what I want from the car!

ITB's, chargers and remaps are all on the possible list :)

wobba i have a scorpion exhaust devil de cat, supersrint manifold and viper induction kit on my w3 and it pulls very well even on a standard chip, i had a penny duck chip on it and it was very good considering no major work, it was a bit heavy on the fueling so i am going to try one off summeh, and best of all it sounds great and its reliable! Touch wood! I think major mods are better for weekend or track cars, or very expensive learning curves as in my case! as they will let you down!

Yea my car is now reliable with minor stuff except for the 714 megane block I swapped it too. I'll be umming and arring over more serious mods for some time to come yet. I'd love more power but not sure if I want to go down that route due to cost and reliability and driveability!

could always get some headwork done and a inlet manifold port.

I think I will Northy, have a spare 714 Megane head here in good nic, and a meggy inlet mani (and tb for it if i wanna go the full meggy route).
