Turbo Conversion Question

Right here we go !

Basically i might be buying a brand new engine with turbo etc , it comes with the block freshly built using all new parts and bits and pieces. My question is in theory will this just drop straight in or will any modification to the engine bay be needed ? i have the spec of the Engine so i can list that but im guessing i will need a standalone ECU to go with it ? i know the pipework for the intercooler will have to be done also but im unsure as to what other modifications will be required.
Any help would be massively appreciated guys and gals !!!!

Which car and which engine :D

If its a williams and a willaims engine, then it should just drop on the original mounts, depending on what turbo manifold, you will need to modify the heat shield, or use one off an RSI.

Other then that, you will need ecu loom and charge cooler / intercooler setup of your choice.

Battery may need relocation depending on your boost work setup, so bare that in mind.

If you want things like a boost gauge you will need to pop some holes in the bulk head for the those, but nothing major.

I assume you will be using an oil cooler, so you will need to fabricate some mounts for that and stick it infront of the rad on the cross member.

its an F7P lump dropping into a williams 3. Have decided to give it to APD to let them work their magic on it :lol:

yeah thats the one mate ! i'll be taking the engine and my williams to APD so hopefully should have all the bits i need :D

mate if its of the 19 16v you will also need a clio 16/williams thermostat
housing instead of the 19 one which will point the opposite way .

ohh did i mention i can take 19 thermo housing of your hands ?? :P

i would of thought that a standalone would be better than a plug in job and at 220 quid the difference wouldnt be that great would it ?

i would say the sandalone is always going to be better, but depends what you get, i personally like the emerald k3 but that will set you back about 800 quid...
