View Full Version : Low inertia alternators
Mines standard at mo, and is making noises, with no tension on belt I can wiggle the pulley a little and it clonks a bit when I do so.
So...any low inertia/mass whatever alternatives out there?
what the hells one of them and whats the benefit over a boggo one?

less resistance - more bhp
i think anyway
yeah, your engine will be working less to run it, hence more power to the wheels, but probably produce less power and thus if you do lots of short journeys not a good option ;)
bugger that  minimal gains at lots of cost it sound like to me
or just go for some under drive pullies ;)

You can get custom made alternators, the ICE boys use them to power massive systems without killing batteries all the time lol
There's a place near Harlow but I'm buggered if I can remember the name of the place off hand...
GO onto "kit car spares" there pushin ...mitsubishi alternators ,compact an generally fit anythin.
