sort of common topic, but i have a budget of around 600quid to buy a daily hack with, i need some reliable (obviously) and good on fuel (obviously) i'll be doing 50miles a day, my diseasel runabouts cambelts snapped so i need something else, also, preferably something cheap to insure!
ford ka. pick an old 1 up for around ur bedget and insuarnce grp 2 iirc.

Omega MK1? These are going friggin cheap at mo. Well equipped too. Shapes look a but dated now though.
Hopefully picking up a 3.0 MV6 (2001) for oneself this week. :D
I fancy a fully loaded crusier.
But yeah, Omega. Loads round for £500. Wont get better spec'd cars fr the year/age on that budget you have.

Had a "w" reg punto sporting ,6 speed box ,1258cc engine, 40+ to gallon ,had it three years cracking little car, roomy an handled really well. :wink:
until the electrics all melted ? :p

i had a cinquecento as my first car.
put a punto 1242 8v engine from a punto in it and bought a van aaken turbo kit for it
went like shit off a shovel !
scary as hell though in a noddy car
might have a 306 turbo diesel its got mot but no tax,i'm in west mids
