Now A-B driving i have been in some awsome cars and the quickest was an 05 WRC Subaru awsome. Made my eyes bleed.

Now in a straight line then a recent stoll up the local bypass in a freinds newly aquired Sapphire Cosworth have changed the leaderboard. Now in my youth i have many Cossies inc Escort etc and working for Garrett turbochangers and in the 90s we did all the Group A and touring car stuff and dyno testing. I did have decent spec car with a gen 400hp.

Now this thing he bought for 8.5k and the recepits pack he got with the car show a 12.5k engine rebuild (3months ago)>!!!!!!! The Spec is basically a Touring car engine with more modern ad ons with a net result of 560+bhp at 8k rpm.38psi peak boost and maintains 36psi !

Now going out in it reminded me of the old days of cossy ownership - squeeky dash and having to put it in 1st before going for reverse so it doesnt crunch etc....

Car idles and fine and drives really smooth and you would not notice whats to come. Get to the bypass and it just a 3 mile straight dual carrageway in the countryside puts it in second and hoof it and 3k it statrt to come in very impressive and the 5k goes again all the way to 8250rpm limiter with no tail off and the push you get was like being on a missile. It was so quick i started to giggle as it was beyond scary.! then into 3rd and then realise that it must be slightly wheelspinning (no tramp) as the shove was even harder and then 4 then 5th and do know what the top speed is but we were on the limiter in 5th (8250rpm) on 17" wheels (greater RR than std) showing 1/2 inch past the 170mph mark on the speedo and we were not even half the way down the bypass.! Given the power and 2wd the tractions was very impressive but on the way back we say where we launched from secon and you could see black lines for about 100m....

His friend has an R1 and it pulled away from that comfortably (talked to the R1 owner and confirm this) and the local spiv in his gallardo got torn a new one and was drop like a stone too. Now round a track you would just kill yourself and how the old touring car drivers used to drive these thing beggers belief, bring them back i say Rouse and Soper, Harvey etc..

White Sapph based in Nantwich done know when the lad he bought it off come from though.

Rebuild was at Dave Brooks in Crewe so guessing not too far away.

Used to have Evo's myself and i would say this is as fast as RC developments one once on the move and thats just under 1000hp..! His best mates Skyline has 600hp spent 50k and it smoked it...! He has subsequently put the Skyline up for sale and getting a similar spec engine in an Escort Cossie.

Makes me want to get this one when he sell it which wont be long as he changes them every month or so and just stick it in the garage and take it out every couple of weeks just to give me a reality check and remeber to not take life so serious...! LOL

Going out in it still makes me smile... :D

Have tried a 600 bhp evo, that was nice :D but the lad has just got an 800 bhp evo last weekend and his words were its brutal :S

Before that he had an 800 bhp Supra, so i can only wait and see what this evo is like :D

Have a 300 bhp mr2 i get lifts to work in and thats not bad either

About 230kph to 240kph in a Legacy Turbo on an unlit highway. I was trying to outrun 2 big capacity motorbikes as they had been drafting me too closely while I was cruising at 160kph. 20 minutes at 230/240kph fixed that :) Eyeballs ached from trying to peer past the headlamp throw of the car, as it ran out of decent throw round about 200kph. I was young then, but never again! And I caught a speed ticket as well :oops: Speeding kills! If not, the scare when getting ticketed for running loony speeds will. :(

An old P reg ex-police Volvo 850 estate, absolute monster of a car that ass raped a ferrari 599 round silverstone - by ass raped I mean caught it, overtook it then several laps later lapped it :shock: It also comfortably got past and then held one of the M5 ring taxis at bay for 2 full laps

Porsche 996 turbo with full RUF conversion, never felt anything like it in my life, out of this world!! 0-60 in 3.4 secs and top speed of 220mph! Pretty incredible and bought for £35K!!

Mate's 500bhp Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX and his dad's Nissan Skyline GT-R 35 ... Amazing cars !!!

His father also has an F3 Chevron B34 powered by a NA 350bhp Cosworth engine .. but I guess he'll never let me have a ride :lol: :lol:

so I guess I'll stick with the Evo and the R35..

The Chevron F3 is used only for local & Sicilian hillclimb championships..


and the Evo and the GT-R 35 are only used as a Sunday car .. but thats usually a very fast Sunday :lol: :lol:


Thats why us Maltese are generally very good at driving .. We've learned the hard way !! Very slippery and short roads :cry:

Specky's 750bhp Tigra is easily the quickest car I have been or ever will go in I'd imagine. 9 second standing 1/4 mile and needs a parachute deploying due to it's trap speeds :)
