Is it worth putting in the 'performance' petrol that costs 5-10p more?
I think its something to do with octane levels? I was told its only really of use in newer cars, but if it makes any difference to the performance / preservation of my car I'd use it.
no need really mate. unless of course, your cars been mapped for it. which if its std it hasnt lol.
save yourself a bit of coin, 97 ron good to go.
I ran mine on v-power for a bit and it didn't run any better. When i switched back i actualy noticed the improvement and it seemed to run smoother.
Using injector cleaner helped boost the performance a bit though.

only had mine a few weeks and never used anything other than V power but thats cos all my M3 takes so its habit now
Only ever use V power in mine
I always was lead to believe that the higher octane level is only a safeguard against detonation for high compression engines such as tuned, turboed or when using nitrous injection.
here is a nice thread about them performance fuels .
