Hi,
My cat on my williams 3 is making very nasty rattling noises, so I assume it's cattled. I'm thinking about just putting a pipe in, instead of spending loads of cash on a new one.
Anyone know if getting rid of the cat will be bad for the performance etc etc?
Also, any ideas where I might get a pipe from if I decide to do that?
Cheers
Sammy

will improve performance so im lead to believe, on the down side u would still need a cat for MOT purposes, decats seem to come up on here regularly :)

Where are u based?
Sure it's not just the CAT heat shield?
I swapped in a mid-muffler instead of a straight pipe. I tried the pipe and it was was too loud for me, and loses some low-end torque on my standard F7R engine. The straight pipe might work better on modded F7R with higher output.

Sure it's not just the CAT heat shield? I think it's the inner workings, the outer casing seems in tacked. Is there anyway of checking this?
Only way to be sure is take it off and rattle it about!
The insides do go though. Don't chuck it out yet, can be a neat way to trick MOT'rs into thinking you have a CAT fitted when its actually hollow hehe.

Wobbas got a good point there! Which is why i asked ur location...
Slap a de-cat on the car, and switch it bk to the CAT for the mot... If u didnt have one, u would have to ask around from people here to borrow one for the mot if u got rid of urs, but keep it! dont throw it, and use it dor mot porposes :D
