hi iv just fitted the the f7r megane engine into my r5 its totally standard except a filter and zaust, just wondering if any one knows at what revs it makes max power and what torq it makes. {feels torq tastic} also how much power can it make with the standard plenum. i used to run itbs with the 1.8 clio 16v but the motor club moan on road rallys due to the noise. any help would be very appreacited.

at around 6500 i believe..@150ft/lb..

can make 230bhp with very serious mods on standard intake..but around 190bhp is good with cams and headwork..then most swap to itb's.

whats price difference between cams and headwork or itb's on standard engine? or is standard engine with itb's not that effective?

I would stick with standard cams and go for some porting, remap, matching, ... maybe even bottom end rebuild you'd probably see better results than slapping some cams in.

interesting, i was thinking of the cam and remap route in the next few months. maybe a rebuild instead then.

i have found on the 1.8 putting itbs on a standard engine does nothing at all. if it were me id do cams first then do head when u need to take it off e.g. blown gasket

also dont pay massive for itbs, r1 throttle bodies from a post 2001 bike 100 pounds e bay. and speak to bogg brothers a manifold will be 160 ponunds. then talk to me about trumpets {my mate turns billet ally ones for 50 pounds} the itbs are 43mm and the injectors flow 330cc plenty for 300 bhp
