View Full Version : New Toy
I pick up my run-about next Tuesday night.
Its Blue and has a number between 1 & 400
Its minter than a polo, and it has less miles on it than my cup (just)

i'll say Williams just to get the obvious out the way... really i'm thinking you've bought a boat tho... close?
Its Blue and has a number between 1 & 400
Number in between 1 and 400? Does that mean limited run of 400, or the name includes those numbers?
Williams (forgetting the last few on the production run  ) if it's the first option.
Or how about a Renault 19 16v
More clues please :?

i'll wait for Yozza to reveal the worlds best kept secret!
I have just brought a nice old crate of a williams to thrash around oulton next week :-D
None of the oh, i am preserving it to be a classic - bollocks to that, it is being driven hard next week, then, having lots of TLC and a tiny bit of attention, then is going to be sold off when mine comes back.

It is a 200 odd numbered car.
Condition - excellent, 80k, Looked after meticulously. Paintwork, very very good.
All Receipts, FRSH.
Bad Bits: Lowered, Exhaust - easily fixed
Will post pics when I pick it up.
/y0z
lol.....so u got it then??
welcome to ownership of the williams mate. another that will be driven in the manner they were built to withstand hehe
shame i wont be there to see ur 1st track day tho
will be a nice drive back for ya tho from pickin it up.
he take ur offer in the end or u make a better 1?
Nice I bet there will be some interesting duels going on at oulton! :D
When's Oulten?
Congrads yoz!
Next wednesday..reno sport day..Yoz can go trophy hunting..lol
Don't hurt it!!
thats how i feel lol. wish i had the money to buy 1 for a "bit" then flog it.
Its coming back up north and having the following:
Brake Pads, Braided Lines, Discs, Standard Suspension and we have had some Williams wheels refurbed in green like Freds.
Also is being "lightened" from some of the airy fairy bollocks that Monseur Le Blanco added at dieppe.
:-)
/y0z
Don't hurt it!!
Of course I will.
Its there to serve a purpose.
/y0z
cool, green wheels would be certainly unique :D
strip the fooker and get it cam'd dude asap  you wont want yer Cup back then
I bloody will, I want a quick car, not a rusting crate ;-)
Thinking of painting the Williams 172 Cup Blue to be honest, give it something extra special in terms of making it stand out as a quick car.
Ideally will be doing the following to the Williams:
Megane Head, Cams, Exhaust, Induction & Throttle Body (Larger & Variable)
All depends on what price the Cup Racer comes in at to be honest.
A 172 Cup Blue would look mint on a Williams I think.
What do you think?
/y0z
I think you have too much money! lol
i liek the colour of the cups but dont think it would suit it tbh, maybe cus all williams are the same 2 blues!
def strip it and cam it, get t/bs etc u know u can afford it
Porn pays me too well.
;-)
/y0z
Cup blue and green wheels? well, the green wheels of Freds I laughed about when I was told about them... saw them and it looked real well, so i'll reserve judgement until it's done, but it has potential... but shame to spray it, but can always go back to std...
nah, have some plans for it.
will probably do some kind of stuff to it, but have a few things to add first like the buckets / harnesses.
Will enjoy pissing a few 182 owners off (I hope at Oulton)
/y0z
haha !
hows the cup btw?
cup is coming back together, just waiting for the head to come back...
hence requirement for a car for Oulton and Anglesea.
:-(
/y0z
cool wont be to long then!!
How much longer before we get to see the Cup in its full glory I realy want to see it now.
Will a larger T/B help power much?
How about getting a 172 engine to fit you've probably got one or two lying round. Leats then you'r on 166hp to start with and already have the tunning bits to hand.
Can we put bets on how long this will last. I take it the Fred recovery vehicle will be present again, I hope he knows this 2.0 turbo better have a good clutch for towing. You should get him a tow hook on his car though realy.
We are going to do:
"a track car is born" the day before
a) go get car
b) bring it back
c) brakes
d) suspension & torsion beam
e) weight removal
f) tyres

Are you still coming to the track day. Migh be worth giving the dealership you know a call about a test drive for a day.
we might hire out a modus
we might hire out a modus
Much as it would be funny I'm sure yoz would do better giving the woman at Renault a call about one of there spare cars then swop the plates with his Cup etc just incase someone works out the car at the track day is a demo model.

I always thought that sticking my Cup engine and bits in a williams shell and painting it Mondial blue would be awesome.....
Think im in a minority though.
