Sadly I am having to sell my very much loved MK1 clio cup race car as we are planning a move and won't have the space for it anymore.
This car has had quite a history, and today is a bit more than the average 16v clio cup.
==== History ====
Purchased and prepared by Harlow Motorsport to compete in the Renault Clio UK CUP. The car was driven by Adam Simmons and apparently (talking to Mark Fish from Mark Fish Motorsport (also a UK clio cup competitor)) the Harlow Motorsport cars were the ones to beat, as they were always up front.
I don't know of any race wins as I haven't done further research than the above, but I wouldn't be surprised. See picture of the model car to see how the car used to look.
In 1998 the car appears in October edition of CCC (Cars and Car Conversions), driven by Adam Simmons in the Super Coupe Cup. The Harlow Motorsport livery still visble.
2002 and the car is bought by Team Think to compete in the Wilhire 6 hour endurance race at Snetterton. This is covered by Autocar magazine October 2002 issue. Team Think also carried out a few upgrades to make the car more competitive, this is where the massive Wilwood Superlite 4pots and 300mm 2 piece bells and rotors are added. Very light and big. Also I think they added the pressurised fuel filler. The Pink cup car was also prepped to a similar standard minus the big brakes.
Since then the car has had an engine upgrade 2ltr worked williams engine, new gearbox and a few other bits. Will go in to detail on that in a bit.

That's the spec for stuff on the car. I also have the following that will be sold with it.
==== ALSO INCLUDED ====
- Extra set of Magnesium Speedlines (used for wets) currently wrapped in Toyo T1R's. These wheels are in VERY GOOD condition, hardly ever used.
- Spare bonnet, was going to fit. Again in A1 condition.
- 2x spare slicks, dunlop control slicks.
- Original CUP workshop manual
- Scale model (if you want it)
- 2 magazines with features in them (if you want them)
- New and unused Wilwood Poly A's for front £110 new.
- Box of bits and bobs, spares etc specifically for the cup.
So there you have it. That's the spec list. Like I said recently it's had a complete engine rebuild and tune, by the previous owner, kicking out 180bhp and 155lb/ft.
I've also spent quite a bit of money getting a gearbox rebuilt, and it has yet to be used. Have all receipts and warrenty to prove. One issue is that the gear linkage needs to be fiddled with/adjusted as reverse is a bitch to select sometimes.
The car is in good condition, runs very sweet. There is a dent in the rear passenger quarter (no creases or paint loss) but you could get this pulled out quite easy.
There are a lot of cool modifications/prep work done to this car, some very simple that have never been discussed on this forum. All with the goal of going faster.
All the stuff above is included. However I will consider selling for less minus the extra set of speedline wheels and the 2 spare slicks.
I'll also consider taking offers minus the big brakes (i.e. i'll strip them off and put standard on).
Price for everything: £4450 ONO
