View Full Version : bigger wheel bearings ?
i dont know if this is the case with clios but on the 19s
the front wheel bearing is larger on the 16v versions .
and the only other difference is the size of the front brakes
being 238 and 258mm on the 16v .
2 questions .
1- is there any advantage with the larger bearing apart
from may be lasting longer ??
2- am i right assuming the 20mm difference in the braking
does come from the caliper extenders hence both 16v and non 16v hubs would be identical externally ?
1 and stronger
2 yes..

Aren't the strut bolt hole spacings different on some models? 54mm versus 52mm?
on clios not sure about 19's..

Yeah, sorry, misread it. Haven't got a clue about on the 19s
it will get even more confusing when i mention i fitted the
19 16v hubs to my 9 than :D
yeah ,the hubs are exaclty the same as i guessed but bearings are
larger on the 16v , the only difference that gave me grief was the
tiny hex screws that hold the discs on the hub ,they were larger
on the 9 and smaller on the 19 16v hubs ,so i just did not fit them :P

That'll be fine - those bolts don't do much other than hold the disc in position to make putting the wheel bolts through easier - once the wheel is back on and holding the disc with the wheel bolts it should be fine.

yeah but i am a wheel cum slut/whore meaning i keep
changing them often ,which makes them a vital part for me :P
