View Full Version : 205/309 GTI Brake calipers
Do they fit a Williams? I have a suspicion the girling ones used are the same...
your right, they are the same as 1.9 gti 205/309
yes the rears are the same too
Ahh cool! Suspicions confirmed :) Thank you.
I been thinking about this....
Does this mean you could use GTi-6 Calipers?
Would be like a 172 brake conversion without having to mess about with hubs etc

Well, I guess they are a straight swap for a 205. Assuming nothing gets in the way then it would be quite possible.
Maybe we should test it!

That's why 406 coupe brembo 4 pots go for so much on ebay. They fit 205, 106, valver, williams, the list goes on.

aye, the brembos fit but u need a washer (or 2) to space them to fit the discs. I've got them :)
as for gti-6. you'd need to find out how they fit the 205 in regards to disc size etc

for gti6 brakes to fit a 205 you need the disc pads carrier and caliper. they normally fit a 406 master cylinder aswel.

what disc do they use when using the 406 V6 Brembo's?
they use standard 172 discs when using the brembos. I imagine the gti 6 ones would fit the 172 discs also. I have a set of gti 6 brakes sitting around from a previous project i may give this a try when i get home from offshore in march. Also have a set of 172 discs sitting too and a spare set of williams hubs so wont even need to disturb my car.
They weigh a ton though...!

gti6 calipers have 57mm pistons. u'll have loads of pedal travel unless you use a bigger master cylinder
