Hi All,
Following the success of the North West meet - how's about a run around the snake pass and surrounding areas???
I know the roads very well so we could meet at say, Glossop, travel over, some piccys at Ladybower reservoir, tea at Castleton and then back over towards Buxton via one of the pass roads.
What do you think?
Also, what dates are people free in the new year??
Hopefully should get agood turnout from peeps in the North Midlands as well as the North West.

let me know dates. etc. would have to a less spirited drive than we normally do over there tho i think this time of year lol.

Would depend if I had my valver back tho :cry: but my housemate is a big fan of snakes pass, is a photography freak :roll: oh and he's got a V6 :twisted:
I'm free the 1st 2 weekends in Jan if thats any help

Right - who is deffo up for this? I suggest meeting at the Snake Pass Inn (halfway between Sheffield and Glossop on the A57) at around 10.00am - what do you think?

Sunday the 12th July. Meet at Halfords car park opposite tesco's-Glossop at 11:30am.(Its usually pretty quiet there and a new development for piks?) Wait around for a short while until everyone who wants to come, comes. Then at 12 set off for the Snake pass. Complete the snake pass, maybe a small tour of sheffield then head back. On the way back we could head over Strines road, which will lead us over to Woodhead pass, another good road. Then go along that road back to Glossop, at the meeting point. journey - approx 4hours.
Stop off at a pub somwhere for a pint and food if people want?
Idea's?

You sure sunday afternoon is the best time to be hitting the pass? Surely if you want a good run it needs to be about 3am in the week.
both are heavily congested roads, i drove down both last week and they were full of gimps.

Just a heads up as I went on the Snake last night - there are 2 sections of roadworks on there at the moment, they're resurfacing the road. One is near Ladybower and the other is leading up from Glossop to the pass itself.

Has anyone thought of a route to take?
Iv been thinking i know that area pretty well and can think of 2 routes that would be quite good.
1. Start at Glossop, drive down the Snake into Derwent near Ladybower. Turn right and go through Hope Valley into Castleton. Stop in the big carpark in Castleton for banter/beers/pictures/ice cream/hooliganism. Up Winatts pass at massive speed and up the A624 to Glossop
2. Glossop, Snake, Derwent. Straight on towards Sheffield. Sneaky left turn over the Strines up to Midhope/Langsett. (my favourite road in the world. Not very fast but very twisty and steep!) Then towards the Flouch pub, over woodhead and then hook a left back to Glossop.
3. Glossop, Snake, Derwent. Through Hope Valley, Hathersage and into top end of Sheffield. Park in The Fox House Pub chit chat and hooliganism. Drive through town looking cool as f*** and pull all the girls
wont be able to make it on a sunday.

just thought id bring this up again but iv been over the snake every weekend as iv been out walking and seen loads of car clubs up there.
some Saxo owners club have been going mental around there and loads of 172 clios must be cliosport lot.
Lets get a run sorted!
