could one of these gauge be used to monitor inlet temps?

im assuming yes but just need to ensure the temp reading range on the gauge is suitable.

any ideas on the range for inlet temps on a turbo willy?

would be cheaper/easier to put the wing mirror outside temp to read intake temp. WOuldnt need to mount a display then!
would be within range also.
EGT wouldnt read intake temp as you are talking 50deg compared to say 700deg.

there is already a air inlet temp sensor on the inlet manifold, anyway you could use that?

ye obviously the exhaust temps are huge.

ive just been looking at maplins sensors. 10quid but will have to mount the gauge. where as we already have one

think i may just use the external temp sensor and make the wire longer. anyone done this? just extend it to the inlet pipe? or shall i connect it to the air inlet temp sensor.

pics of said air inlet temp sensor. cant remeber which it is off the top of my head?

its on the end of the manifold above the aux belt etc,

any ideas on which wires to join from the dash temp display to the air inlet temp sensor, or am i gonna have to find out the hard way?

according to the wiring diagram the wires from the air inlet sensor go to the ecu, pins 14 and 32,

My friend paid £50 for a very tasty inlet temp gauge for his rs turbo a few years back, illuminated digital display about the same size as the outside temperature gauge, think it was from burton power, but i know a few ford boys use them and rate them!
