Bell and Admiral are worth a try - I tend to alternate between them each year when they try to hike my renewal. Just over £300 fully comp on a Jap import STI is what they are charging me.
also try Keith Michaels mate. All my friends with imports insure with them and swear by them

Central Insurance Direct gets my vote every time. http://www.centraldirect.co.uk/
Im insured with them on my Pulsar and have been since I was 20! Its heavily modified too and they dont mind. Nobody else would touch me at that age. Im now 22 and spoke to them last week about changing to a Skyline GTR and they'll cover me fully comp on that too no probs 8)
Another bonus is whenever I have to ring them up, its an english person on the other end of the line and they are really nice people that actually know their cars :D

Wow! Im only £1800 fully comp on a Skyline GTR @ 22. I am in a good postocde area, it will be garaged and used as a second car only - when I rang them and told them that they knocked a few quid off. Could try giving them a call.

garaged minimal mileage 2nd car.
however who can justify spend 1700 quid to insure a car which will get driven once every 8 days???
cheers for the info guys but even if i take the car as part ex, i will be selling it straight on.
i do 30 miles a day and driving a car that does less than 15mpg it will just be too much.
my willy turbo is gonna be alot less to insure with better mpg and will be driven daily.
