im not a big bond fan, the idea really bores me after seeing it time after time. and, bar goldeneye - all of brosnan's films were completely pants. just cartoony and gay. daniel craig's first film to me seemed to be a bit more basic, and more enjoyable as a result. plus, hes a decent actor.

i went to see it friday and it was...errrr...disapointing really.

Nothing like Bond's used to be.

Great for action and stunts but feels like the James Bond carisma and character has been lost

I agree, i wouldnt intentionally sit down on a sunday night to watch it if its on. Rather watch top gear (which i missed  ) over and over again.

But then again tbh im not into these sequels....Die hard, rocky etc

(sits and awaits the stick for hating them films  )

Die hards were great, all similar, same basic plot just done well with very well developed characters & good actors

Rocky - ok but they went tooooo far with 5 sequels of exactly the same story & pretty crap acting imo

Quantum of Solace & Casino Royale are brilliant films in their own right, very good Bond films as well, just quite different to all the previous ones but done very well & the whole Bond franchise needed a change to keep it alive and those 2 films have done just that.

Daniel Craig as Bond = just as cool as fcuk as Sir Sean Connery & Sir Roger MOFO Moore :notworthy: yet one hard bastard that you don't **** with 8)

look. never say never again. isnt bond.

it wasnt part of the bond film franchise. but has been subsequently bought and added.

i finally decided to watch casino royale last night, had it on dvd for a while. and i was actually really impressed with daniel craigs performance as bond, i didnt think i would warm to him, but he is genuinely good. as with all franchises they do need rethinking sometimes(ala batman) and i think it has breathed a breathe of fresh air into it. but the ultimate bond will always be sir roger(the dodger) moore. i grew up watching his bond, and for comedy value he is hilarious!!!! has anyone else noticed daniel craigs pierecing blue eyes????

but my bonds are as follows

1.) roger moore (comedy genius)
2.) timothy dalton (didnt get a chance and was unfairly treated)
3.) pierece brosnan (goldeneye was awesome ,it was originally wrote for timothy dalton, but have to agree that his films went all comicy and very unrealistic.

4.) daniel craig (early days yet, lets see how he fairs after 2 more, but so far on the back of casino royale which i watched last night, hes looking good)

5.) sean connery (not a fan and the films are so old, i havent really ever seen one properly

6.) george lazenby (nuff said

lazenby was actually quite well received at the time i think, it was him who decided to oot out.

Just looking at Fatboy's run down on bond's and I have to say I am almost completley the contary.

Sean Connery = lengend.

Roger Moore = bellend.

Timothaly Dalton = Ohh dear.

Pierce Brosnan = boring.

Daniel Craig = showing great promise.

I've just downloaded all the bond films off bittorrent and am watching them atm.

Not seen the latest but IMO best to worst;
1. Dalton,
2. Moore,
3. Brosnan,
4. Craig/Lazenby,
5. Connery

Moore definfately had the best stories but Dalton was a bit harder IMO.

Connery i can't ****ing stand though!

His films are boring and cheesy (yes i know moores are too but i get the feeling Sean takes it seriously unlike Roger). His also a cock in real life...every year up here (Scotland) the SNP wheel him out as 'Mr Scotland' to boost votes and he doesn't even live here!

Craigs first film was ok but agree some of the Bond character has been lost with him.

if you read the books, craig is bond.

I haven't read the books but a friend of mine has and was telling me about them.

He was saying Bond was much darker and sinister - a quick killer with little remorse.

I think that is far better than the half comedy cack they produced in the 1980's.

I am tempted to have a read of one myself. The only fiction books regarding spy novels I have read are the Bourne book's.
