Had this little baby for a few years now, pretty much been pressured by the rents to try and sell it from the moment I got it on the drive but everytime I drove it I couldn't bring myself to let it go. However that time has now come, house is being rented out so can't leave it on the drive any longer and it has to go :( Its a non-runner due to power steering problems namely the seal went on one of the pipes and I tried to replace it but to no avail. I've been told this is down to the pipe so would need a replacement but that would be cheap to source 2nd hand.

Anyway spec as follows:

4 new goodyear tyres 195/50/15
New renault backbox
New 'fitted' foot mats
New alternator
New 8mm blue HT leads from performanceleads.co.uk
New goodridge braided hoses all round
Brand new Rear calipers (less than 100 miles) with new pads
Brand new pair of shocks from eurocarparts
New handbrake cables
New 'motorsport upgrade' fuel pump
Brand new o/s driveshaft from eurocarparts (less than 100 miles)
New top mount bearings
Excellent/mint condition phase 2 interior
Blue Williams carpet
Refurbished front calipers
Brembo max front discs
Green stuff front pads
Recent new wishbones
Recent aux belt change
Piperx induction kit (original can be supplied also)
Clutch only done few thousand miles
Gear oil recently changed
New dogbone and gearbox mounts.

Lowered 40mm front/rear lowered on torsion bar

MOT until March 2009 but no tax.

Now lets be honest, the car is 16 years old so body work has seen better days, some usual specs of dust on the rear arches but apart from that generally rust free. It did have an envelope size hole inside one of the rear arches but had this professionally welded up with a plate so it would pass the MOT. Also looks like the rear half of one of the sills has been replaced at some stage so no rust there.

Bad bits : oil leak from back of the block somewhere (has been for quite a while), but doesnt overheat so not sure what this could be?
Body work as mentioned above 'needs some tlc'
Occasionally makes some clunks from the front somewhere but think this is just the exhaust knocking as all the mounts/rubbers look fine top bearings are new as are wishbones and arb outer bushes so not sure what else it could be.

Would need to be trailered away obv.

£500

Thanks for looking
-Sam

So it runs and starts, it's just the power steering that's fooked?

can you not just drain the power steering system and run it as a "manual"?

Pretty sure that will seize the pump ^

Yup runs fine so I guess if you wanted you could run it without the power steering and hope for the best. Atm the alternator is out and the aux belt off but obv I will connect it all up before its sold.

You could drive it fine, I think the power steering would last a little while before all the fluid pisses out as its not a huge leak.

Which pipe and seal needs replacing?

You could get it working in no time if you've already got the alternator off and it's a simple case of changing one or two of the pipes!

I'm sure someone off here would/could help :)

No doubt but I really don't have the time, maybe someone will get a bargain? Im trying to source the part at the moment and might have a go at fixing it but the house will be rented soon so might not have the time.

Hey mate, no the fluid pisses out, probably have 5 minutes before it all went. so you could start it etc but I wouldn't want to drive it.
