I may be buying a car on sunday and needs a days insurance to get it home. I only need a day as it'll be off the road for a while.

My current policy is on my 1-7-2, and I'm buying a valver so I rang my insurance company asking if they'd do it........£56 for a week seems steep to me

I am not quite 21 yet. Will anyone give me "drive home" insurance?

cheers

technically although you have purchased the car im guessing the car would still be in the owners name so if you put the sales transfer date as the day after could you drive it home on your insurance which in many cases allows you to drive any car with owners permission could be a bit of a grey area legally but i would enquire or in my case i would drive the car home and f**k the drive home insurance

as busterryhmes said, Although i wouldnt do it again, had a real close one bringing one of my old valvers home, the previous owner was insured and i was on another car and could drive other vehicles, got followed for 20 miles on a road i didnt know by the fuzz, was expecting a tug as the previous owner was on a provisional licence

Dayinsure will be the way i do it next time
