Hi all, only had the old williams a wk now after 6years off! Im running TOYO T1R's on the front with old TOYO T1S's on rear, the arse is all over the place with lift off over stear so thinking the rears need a change.
Im thinking of TOYO PROXI R888, has anyone used these? I know the grip is good in dry but how about the wet, and how long do they last? Ta ppl 8)

I hate toyos.

Mine has Toyos on the front and in anything but BONE ****ING DRY and its minging.

Its like running a car with 5000bhp, no grip at all.

Alot of people rate Eagle F1's on here. Ok in all conditions.

I've got yoko paradas

very good all round imo, just a bit iffy when the temperature outside drops below freezing, they need a bit of heat in them I've found

Saying that this is the 1st time I've had them on all 4 corners so I'm not sure what they'll be like over the winter :?

Ive never had a problem with toyo's but its personal preference with tyres tbh, i think all the high performance tyres are that closely matched its hard to tell, im running toyo px4's atm and there great, just as good as t1r's imo and have lasted ages, but need to change next month so looking into either parada's, t1r's again, or Eagle F1's, Ive heard good things about the Pilot exalto's you rarely hear a bad thing about michelins

eagle f1's for me, tried the toyo's and they were easily as good but got the f1's cheaper so went for those.

Wouldn't mind trying some r888's

Any worn tyres on the back of the clio will make it lift-off oversteer more than usual. I think 4 x T1R with similar wear all round will tame it down a lot. They are more neutral handling than the Goodyear F1 on the Williams but not as fun (ie: controllable lift-off oversteer).

eagle f1's for me. Heard 888's are over priced for very little gain over other road tyres and last 5 mins

Toyos = wank imo

Never again will they grace my car, no matter how cheap! lol

Haven't tried the PE2s but apparently they're good.

I'd be tempted by 185/55 F1s (GSD2 pattern) for road (Got them, love them, bar slightly soft sidewalls) and get a spare set of shitty wheels and stick 195/50 F1 (GSD3 pattern) or some other cheap but good tyre on them for track :)

Was thinking of changing the 185/55/15's for 195/50/15's on std williams wheels, will this trow the speedo out at all?
Iv had a price for the R888's and they are a lil rich £78+VAT each, what do the Michies go for?

i paid 71 quid a tyre on mine.

My fronts are a bit tired now but my tracking is quite savagly out

The rears have done 7k now and they still have 4-5mm on them

I have PE2's alround on mine and they are excellent in wet or dry conditions. Ive had proxes in the past and have been very disoppointed with the grip levels.
Michelin PE2's all the way

avons zz3 are really good, good grip in wet and dry very well made strong and not over priced i get them for £35 each because i worked for nationals many years ago which is a bargin michelins are a very good but to expencive even with the discount i get i could get 2 avons. toyos had them on the car when first had it did not like them very soft and they lost there shape crap in the wet, and its always wet here 90% of the time
