Hello

I have £250 for a willy 2 front brake upgrade - what and where should I buy? Any recomendations?

totally refresh the o/e setup for that mate, exchange calipers from GSF, new discs and decent ferodo 2500 pads or similar, believe the pagids are popular also. flush and replace the fluid aswell while ur at it and thats shud be more than adequate

As coops says, unless you could stump up a little more for some 4 pots then i'd refresh everything, discs, pads, calipers, fluid, nipples

maybe four pots a bit much for road use as found hard to keep heat in them they can have very little feel in them until hot best reserved for track use or maybe running a very soft compound

i recently bought front calipers and std flexible hoses for my williams

caliper front r/h - R65610
caliper front l/h - R65608

£36 exc vat with £15 surcharge on each caliper you get your cash back when you return your old ones
hoses were about £7 inc vat each i think renault charge £25 each

I managed to replace everything for £250 on my brakes, got uprated discs & pads, new calipers and braided lines (got these for free tho :oops: ) and some decent fluid as well.

I'm sellin the calipers and the lines if ur interested :wink: I managed to get some 4 pots for £200 not long after I fitted it all, probably done 4k :wink:

not spot on at all, my 4 pots are far superior to std setup in good nick even from cold

isn't that just due to the pads though as the calipers don't require heat..

though i agree below 200bhp on a road car standard in 100% condition are fine

The most popular 4pot kits come supplied with a rubbish pad choice imo
So would explain that.

Just to check, do 4-pots have different pad shapes/sizes than the standard pads?

yes but you can still get decent pads that work from cold.
