Got mine back last week had to pay £56 for out of warranty repair - it went on its hold to Germany :D

Theres a new fault now to the rings which mine had - basically the video chips are failing so half way though your game screen goes pop - you can still here the game but thats yer lot!

New mobo on mine now - all is well again - few!

Substandard parts you say... MS aren't the only ones. Apple are also always caught out using them as well and you just know that means the 3G iPhone is going to suffer now its cheaper.

Its the same with all good electronic products though. Demand for them is high as is the demand for greater profit margins so the cheaper components come along and find there way in the systems. The PS3 will also no doubt encounter this at some point as the PS2 did with its ghey DVD drive.

I don't get the whole XB360 Vs PS3 fanboy war though. They're both good consoles (Except the XB does require the use of ear protection whilst playing). The PS3 really isn't all that... I HATE the Sony online gaming experience but to a total newb who doens't know any better I guess it's passable.

then the mega cd vs, the unreleased cd add on for snes, which ded up coming out as the playstation.


then the ps vs n64

etc etc etc.

add in a few 1 offs that nearly made it, jaguar , saturn etc. lol

Don't forget the 32X, Amiga CD32, the CD-I, Neo-Geo - I had em all - wish I'd kept them now some are worth mega money in mint condition

You've all forgotten about the NeoGeo & 3DO... man i've had some consoles in my time now I come to think about it. The SNES rocked though and me and my mates spent hours playing Street Fighter II

I used to like my handhelds... gameboy, game gear, lynx, gp32, neo geo pocket - I had them all!
