I remember one side has a pin in it that you need to knock out with a drift. Can't remember which side but you could check that first.

Yeah, the drivers side has a roll pin going through the driveshaft and output shaft of the box, make sure this is removed first.
I have seen them rusted solid before though.
Mat.
ok i think this is the side i'm fighting against.
but where is this pin located and how do i remove it becauze i don't see it.
It goes through teh bit that fits over the shaft coming from the gearbox, you'll have to rotate it to see it, its only 6mm, you need a 6mm punch to remove it
ok mate tnx i will take a look
i was so desperate that i was about to cut the shaftboot / shaft rubber to get it done with
but i will take a look later

I used an old drill bit to tap it through (not drill it out!) in case you don't have a punch to hand.
It goes through teh bit that fits over the shaft coming from the gearbox, you'll have to rotate it to see it, its only 6mm, you need a 6mm punch to remove it
4mm isnt it?
either way, they're a royal pain if they've not been removed in a few years!!
Nah 99% bsuure theya re 6mm, i've used a 5" nail in the past with the point cut off, bent a few though, also had the driveshaft stuck onto the shaft before, can usually level it off something though
lol roll rin is 5mm and will need a 5 mm punch :D DO NOT use a 3mm punch what ever you do, did that mistake last time i took the shaft off and ended up with a punch stuck inside the rollpin, few hours later finally got it out lol
think my 3mm rollpin never came back out! :D even with the gearbox out the car I still couldn't shift it
ai its a doudle skin rollpin, outer sleeve is 5mm and inner is 3mm, use 5mm punch or as lunner says the old pointless nail trick
