hi mate turbochargers are an art....

first one does seem to have an actuator at all and might be to big...

might be worth speaking to vince at cr turbos...for advice doubt he can match those prices though

Forget those cheap Chinese knock-off turbos. Did a huge amount of research in to those last year. Basically the quality control on those is poor to non-existant. It might last one year, it might last one boost. You just don't know.

I'd strongly suggest ordering a genuine Garrett from the US. Exchange rate makes them all half-priced

tbh, i'd just save and get th turbo rebuilt. you might be suprised with the cost of a rebuild. i certainly wouldnt want to buy a 2nd turbo, and have to change twice

ive been quoted upto 475 for a rebuild.

or 175 for just bearings and seals.

i do need a new exhaust side tho as there are cracks round the wastegate which are bout 10mm long and theres about 8. so that 175 is now at least £300

i have around £200 atm to get a turbo sorted.

really fancy that gt3076 above^^^ looks  plus i jus got a nice -31 actuator to go on it 8)

it seems mine may be ok.

after i rebuilt it there was still play in the shaft. but obviously it had no oil run through it. now its had oil through it there is no play in the shaft.

another worry was when it was started with no exhaust it was real smokey. but it turns out that it will seep oil if there is no back pressure from the exhaust. so good news. fingers crossed its ok.

exhaust to fitted this week
