thought i better make my own thread seeing cams are this
seasons must have :P
been to a piper distributor today and got some info which got me
a little more confused . they are listing 2 different fast road cams
for williams and 1.8 16v (repros )
looking at the specs ,the only difference in 2 sets is at
VALVE LIFT and LIFT @ TDC figures .

VALVE LIFT FIGURES
VALVE LIFT 16V = INLET/ 390" EXH/362"
WILLIAMS = INLET/407" EXH/390"

LIFT AT TDC FIGURES
16V = INLET/.050" EXH/.034"
WILLIAMS - INLET/.076" EXH/.058"

now first of all can someone in the know pls explain what
these "LIFT" figures mean in real life ??
are there any benefits using the williams ones over 16v stuff
on a 2 litre b/e with 1.8 head ?

also on the piper cataloque it says "verniers recommended" for these cams , in that case ,i can fit them using standard pulleys as well yes ??
if thats true , am i right thinking fitting these using standard pulleys is
the same thing as replacing a pair of standard cams ??

Yes I ran mine on standard pulleys for a week or so, apparently the timing is the bitch
