What a useless ad!

Wheres all the pictures people want to really see?

If he's hoping for 12k on the strength of that ad, he's having a laugh. Nowhere near enough pics and no explanation of why the car is on such a low mileage, how its been looked after etc etc.

Looks OK in the pictures I suppose!

I was just about to post about this ad too! The guy clearly has an attitude, im not that experienced with these cars but I can tell he isn't going to sell it at that price and, like people have said, with that set of photos.

I would to know the justification for the price he has put on the car.

You can get a Clio Trophy for less than that.

rich collector fodder that, no enthusiast, very expensive

To be fair if you really do love the williams and wanted to buy either a new car or the best of the best you'd buy it.

^^^^^ agreed.

id rather spend a couple grand more on a car thats known/documented as having no bodywork/paint done than 1 that has.

paint hides all sorts.

12k is a little steep, but then, maybe he doesnt really wanna get rid but is satisfying the mrs by putting it on the market ;)

The only person who would buy that car is someone who has unlimited funds, i.e a multi millionaire

Even if you were a multi millionaire its doubtful you'd be driving round/buying a williams.

The only buyer he'd get for that would be someone who would like/want a williams, like someone off a forum like this, your average working guy, but who could seriously justify that price?

Worth no more than 6k IMO.

OVER PRICED, end of.

I'd buy it and I'll never be a millionaire - I'd rather pay 12k for a pretty much brand new willy and experience what it was like than buy something newer.

I don't get justifying price? if you were in a position to buy a one owner 10k car for 12 grand you've already justified to yourself spending that kind of money..

Be it a 197 or that williams they both have the same mileage and both have the same price its upto your heart and head which you choose.

worth what someone is happy to pay so peoples valuations on here are academic, good luck to him and if he gets 12k fine i cant get 2k for mine so looks like this maybe isnt the time to sell whether for 2 or 12k :) :)

Alreet Daz!!

I was really referring to 'your mans average wage'

I could never justify paying 12k for that as long as I lived, no matter what condition its in! Its just totally cloud cuckoo land! Thats around 1.5% depreciation rate in 15 years, based on 15k new price, might not even be that much! You name me an AVERAGE (Which is what renault are, regardless that its a willy) car on the planet that has that depreciation rate? Unless we are talking classic ferrari's etc.

On the other hand, do you really think that engine will be sweet as a nut, I reckon it will be ****ed. Cars are built to be driven, not sat in a garage with a cover over it. You leave your car sat for a month and see what its like trying to drive it!

Thats my in your face opinion on it anyway! No doubt I will get a BIG FAT RED CARD for it! lol!

But as your man below says, and whatever your pricing up in life, if someone pays 12k for it then its worth 12k! Lol!

Doubtful though!

 :o

thing is if you bought it as an enthusiast and drove it as its meant to be it devalues so quickly it becomes just another willy...

so it only value is as a trailered show car really...

whats the point.. :?

like some other ppl.

just stick another set of willy dials in...and touch up the areas of paint/bodywork needed on the sly, theres no mileage extra, and no extra damage....so no devaluation ;)

I don't see what peoples main issues are in reality, yes you can buy lots of other cars that are newer, better technology, all the bells and whistles etc... but how many of them will be going down in history as a truly 'great' car?

The trophy? nice but not as ground breaking as the williams, 172 cup... again, nice but not a big jump from the williams... the only other clio that would suggest a big jump is the Vee, and even those will have limited appeal due to their 2 seater status....

He is going in high to attract a collector, someone who wants to own a true 'almost new' example. People will happily pay 12k for a used BMW, Merc, maybe even shell out that on a new Kia! haha... so what are the issues with buying something that has a proven pedigree, pampered as new originality and such a historic following?

Granted you can experience similar for far less money, but there are very few that still resemble the 'factory' experience... so are you really getting the thrill?

I personally wouldn't buy it, but if you think long and hard at some of the restoration projects on here, they easily spend 6k+ on parts, paint and work... yes its spanking in the end, but is it original? so for me its swings and roundabouts..... you pays your money, you gets your prize.

Why is the ad useless? It says in there to ring for more details....anyone genuinely interested would not buy it from the strength of the ad but would go to view it and go over it with a fine tooth comb for that kind of money. Personally I wouldn't buy it as I couldn't justify spending that amount on a car I wouldn't want to use.....but if I was loaded then I'd be tempted, would be nice to have one of the mintest and most original willys in the UK!

if i won the lottery tomorrow, id buy it.
along with a list as long as my arm of cars.
id have a garage full of classic hot hatches all low mileage and mint, escort cossie, intergrale, 6r4, 5turbo2 the list goes on, and if i was looking for a mint example of a williams that would fit the bill!

you could buy a new astra for that price, but its the same as every other astra on the road, it might be modern but its still boring and shit,

whereas with that you get to step back a few years and pay a normal price for a car with good history and low milage

i remember this one being for sale a year or so ago and it was suggested it was bought as a wc car, photos show it at a different propery this time around
