View Full Version : 172 discs
can these be used with valver/williams calipers?
theyll obv need a bracket for the calipers
anyone know where i could get said brackets also?
don't think so..
you would have to have them made
better just fitting the complete hubs..
as maxi said better off fitting the hubs and calipers from a 172

no you cant use them , theyre too thick for valver calipers.
i tried this a while ago.
I have 280mm brakes from 17poo Mk1 (Megane Scenic have the same brakes)
The way is to change the complete axle stub, calippers etc.. The only thing what you have to modify is the side where you have to fit the shocks to the axle stub.
The axles stub of the 17poo is wider than the Williams, so you have to mill off a few mm to fit it into your Williams shocks.
After this you will have bigger disc, bigger calippers and bigger wheel bearing on your Willy.

Has anyone offered up actual 172 dampers to a MK1 using the mk2 hub setup?
might turn into an easy mod that way
