It bolts onto the block and the gearbox bell mouth iirc

I seem to remember a bracket on the offside end of the starter itself which the shield mounts to?

Might well be wrong. I;m just setting about re-commissioning the car after a long lay up. Shortly before they lay up I had a starter fitted (instead of doing it myself....) and I'm sure there's now a bracket missing, not to mention the shield itself.

If I'm wrong, I'm buggered if I can figure out how to re-mount the shield!

Yes actually i believe you are correct, tehre is also a bolt that mounts it to the block at the top, mine is just held on by that one

yeah there's two...

the one on the back of the block and a small bracket on one of the starter motors bolts that holds the other end and the wiring loam as well

nah, one on the block goes straight into the block, there is another on std downpipes coming off the manifold/downpipe join that goes to the bottom hole in the pics
