Engine Heat

Alrite peeps just a question for ya all.

Wat sort of temperature does yr clios sit at once warmed up coz mine gets so hot just on a daisy drive that i can seat a heat wave out of the bonnet vent, also since i have had it tuned about 6months ago now the oil cap has come off twice which is very odd and its been so tite u would need to knock it with a tool lol.

But my temperature gauge sits just under 3quarters of the way where is ment to be or is that just normal?

hello yaeh my valver sits at bout 3/4 and i can never undo my oil cap.

Oil temp should be below 100C normally, and a bit higher if you cane it.

Water temperature should hang about the middle segment of the dial.

my water temp sits on first big notch no matter what pretty much, thats with a water cooled turbo fitted aswell :shock:

I wouldn't worry about the heat haze thing, I got it the other day and I only drove a few miles to the gym lol

It's only because there's a big hole in the bonnet for the heat to escape!

i think i asked once what wud happen if the vent wasnt there and if it actually did precious little for these engines - like alot of the rs turbo vents. If i recall someone sent in a pic showing the exhaust manifold glowing red - nice.
