Thought of moving the fuel tank inside?
make one from GRP?
Do you have a tank lying about guess i would need that as a mould ? i personnally dont have the time but if someone is offering to make one im very interested if i cross their palm with silver.
Steel or Ally? You pay for the material and supply me with a rough idea of where you want the fixing holes and i'll bend you one ;)

To be honest ali is fine most guards are GRP. Will have to get it on the ramp and sketch something out.
Cool-o-mundo - just email anything you do to me at (mpittman90@hotmail.com) and i'll get back to ya - If there's enough interest I'll bend a couple more to ;)
Most people on road rally cars and stage cars just use around 3mm aluminum. Also known road signs to be used by a few people
You dont need to go crazy with a tank guard and make it out of 6mm steel or anything that heavy
Thinking of just getting some mudflap material plastics and cover it with that.
I have known people to use conveyer belt to cover them before
