View Full Version : Injector o-rings/seals
Hi guys, me again! I took the fuel rail off last night and gave it a minor clean up, was covered in shit like everything else!
I have now exposed the little rubber seals at the top of the ijectors and I am sure I have read I now need to replace them if I have taken to rail off...
The injectors look filthy on the outside, but dunno about inside. may get the cleaned but probably not now.
Do I need new seals, and if so, how much do Renault charge for them. Whil I have it apart, is there anything I can do, other than an expensive rejetting, to get the injectors cleaned?
Don't think reno sell them seaparately from the injectors altho i think BRUN got some elsewhere.
You shouldn't need to replace them if theres no damage/leaks..i'd maybe just soak them in wd40 and turn them round before refitting if you're not sure.
I did read that you can locate the rings from a bosch dealer/outlet or something? Cant remember if it was Bosch or not. They dont look damaged to me, so thats okay.
As for the injectors themselves, I doubt they have ever been taken out. I dont want to spend yet more bucks cleaning them so is there a cheaper way?
Just put them back in...its always something you could do with the engine back in if need be

frauds do an o-ring box which is handy to have, will have some that will fit in it .. only costs a couple of quid and are good to have around when your PAS pipes leak everywhere!
I'll update you on my findings, though I think with so much to do I will end up leaving them and taking them off later for a clean when I oput engine back in.
I'll take a nosey in halfords :D Thanks, they may come in (H)Andy
i can probably still get them if you need them, the exact ones, not some random o-ring
but there not cheap and they take ages to arrive from germany
yes they are Bosch, i got Coops a set
ai, brun got me a set that i still havent used, nice spre to have, around 25 quid i think for a set of 5 for top and 5 fo bottom
Any bosch service centre does them off the shelf
1 280 210 765 O-RING £2.35+VAT EACH
1 280 210 752 O-RING £1.25+VAT EACH
Prices correct as of 26/06/2006 when i rebuilt my engine
Got mine from warrington's of Warwick, CV34 5DB, 01926 496677 / 01926 493072
I brought 5 of the bigger ones and 4 of the smaller ones and it cost me £20 near as damn it all in

Went round god knows how many places that specifically do o rings etc and none of them could help me with any of the items they do, so an off the shelf halfords item isn't gonna be anywhere near, they are made of the a special material iirc
This is great info, cheers! Not had a chance to have a proper look yet, and I have not taken the injectors fuly out yet, just the fuel rail side so far.
So many things to buy!
you dont need to replace them tho mate, just clean them and warm them in hot water before refitting, allows them to expand and seal correctly. tbh they be reet either way, one of mine had a chip missing from it so i built it up with silicone sealant and it lasted well over 5k before giving out again
