View Full Version : Opinions of BF Goodrich?

Having put up a post regarding Yokohama's http://www.williamsclio.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27696 I have since found out the origional quote for the tyres was for a lesser model than the paradas and these are now out of budget.

Plumping for the 195/50/15 profile I have noticed BF Goodrich mytyres.co.uk are a very reasonable option.

I know tyres are a very emotive subject, but does anyone have any experience with Goodrich and what are they like for grip and durability?

Also has anyone gone from Eagle F1's to Goodrich's and what were your opinions?

The current F1s are getting a bit slick, so decision time is soon.

Thanks,

Doug

BTW, before anyone asks I'm not driving with illegal tyres at the moment. That is plain irrisponsible. The term slick was just meant as in they are getting close to minimum tread depth.

Note, proof read first Doug!

Goodridge are a midrange tyre that are owned and produced by michelin in america.

Not had much experiance with the car tyres but know they make very popular 4x4 tyres.

They arent in the same league as f1's though as they are a fast road tyre (same sort of range really looking at paradas, or proxy t1R's)

they will work but if you do get them remember they will be nowhere near as progressive as the f1's so take it easy till you know what they will take.

Hope this helps.

Bailey.

I've never had F1's so no idea how good these are supposed to be, but I have used BFG's 195-50's on both my williams. They are very good on wet and dry twisty roads. I chose 195's because the profile protects the wheel rim at the kerb if you misjudge it. I have not kept a track of durability time, but they last well in excess of a years driving for me at something like 10,000m a year.

Had the BFG gforce sport on wife's car round about the same time I had F1 on my Williams. Not quite comparing apples-to apples, but the impression I had was that they were just as capable as the F1s in the dry. Did a reasonable job in the wet (ie: I did not need to tippy-toe around in the wet), but not quite the confidence inspiring calibre of the F1s. I remember thinking to myself that the BFGs would have been great value budget tyres for the Williams - if only the F1s had not been so cheap.

had some on my old valver when i got it, and the handling was fine, but the eagle f1's are much superior. depends how you drive, normal driving they will be fine, but if you push them hard you may end up in a hedge!

i had bf goodyear profiler g's and then the newer g-force pofilers that superseeded them on my old hybrid, and i have f1s on my 172 now,and im lucky as i can get f1s for 31 quid each (195/50/15) but if i had to pay full wack then id have the bf's every time,i never found a prob with them, similar tread pattern to the f1s and survived a trip to the ring with ease so they get the thumbs up from me

i have bfg g-forces on my willy now 195/55/15's and i think they are very capable tyres in the dry and also very good in the wet.i recommend them for the price, although i haven't tried eagle f1's before it has to be said.

Everyones an Eagle bum boy!

I'm ready to get rid of mine I personally think they're average at best. Don't suit the car imo

Go with BFG's daz, would be good to get a subjective opinion. If you are not impressed I'll change mine.
