View Full Version : Removing imperfections in paint
Does that mop malarky really make a difference when 'cutting back' paint so to speak?
My cars pretty much finished but theres a few very slight (note to most people not even noticable but then this is me) imperfections..
I heard new cars go through a process that eliminates these so whats the way?

Yeah, any dirt in the lacquer can be flatted out and polished.

best thing is a porter cable but they dont sell them in the uk so would have to get one from the usa loads of peeps on cliosport have got them ! give good results!
use wet 2000 grit paper, soften it up with soap too, and then use a cutting compound like G3 and then polish
pretty much as lunner says, takes abit of work if its a big area but worth it if you take your time and dont go ott! :)
id go for 2500 or 3000 to be safe
where do you live Daz, i have a PC and lots of different cutting compounds
Blackburn fella - might have a trip over your way when I get it back :D

As it seems very mild, I'd just use

It will do what you want, cheaper than a P+C :D
Vanilla Moose is a chemical cleaner, it has no physical cut to it
have you actually used it ?
