Side Exit question

im planning on makign a sideexit but will it efffect the back pressure i na negative way at all,

i was thinking of having it coming off the origional centercetsion pipe + addign another small center box with an overal pipe at the side. can make it from SS, also will it be to loud for track?

just wayibg up the pros and cons.

just made one for my trackcar (williams clio)made it myself it was a straight through ss with a jap style back box or side box i should say...but it was well to loud so i took it of and put a small box on just after the down pipe and it sounds tasty now.i have one on my ford anglia aswell and that looks and sounds greate,and will be ok for the trackday db thing

ive heard coops side exit, unsure what it consists of as his is turbo/d but its loud lol

and i think stew has one whoich scraped the DB rating at cadwell by 1 DB iirc

To be honest i would stick 2 silencers on in wot ever arrangement tho as with just 1 mine sounded like it didnt have a zorst! @ idle its quiet and wen you hold the revs on its ok but snap the throttle its loud ish.

how do they test them at trackdays tho?@ idle?

it made quite abit of difference to midges car, ie it made it quite abit slower, think this was down to lose of back pressure. fitted a normal system back on and all was good :D did spit evil flames tho and sounded loud

depends which track but some have driveby meters around the track, but some make u sit at 3/4 revs without a meter next to the exhaust

i put a side exit on mine
it sounded like i was ripping a hole in the earth..awsume sound
but the back pressure was funked up big time.

definatly lost performance.

plus you need a good supply of ear plugs for driving.
