I recenlty had a new gearbox fitted to my car and it has developed an oil leak.. I haven't had the time to look at the car properly yet, but wondered if it could have anything to do with the fact that my speedo has stopped working?
I parked the car in my garage the night it stopped working and it has dropped about 0.5 ltrs of g box oil?!
Thanks in advance
Matt
speedo cable could of popped out n pissed the oil out, but not when cars stood still wudnt of thought

AS above drive shaft gator is most common culprit, hope the people who fitted it didn't round off the shaft bolts!

defo not the driveshaft... any other ideas?
Mine had annoying leak, decided to get the driveshaft gaiter changed (even though it didnt look like it was leaking),
It solved the problem :D 8)
The other things to look at is gear selector or cracked case?

Bump
Had a quick look tonight and has a really bad leak, COuldn't see much because it was dark but GB oil seems to be running down near the manifold and along the black metal bar for the selector?
Cant be the selector can it? As is brand new box?

I had funny leak source. That steel cover in left side of box, steel "pot" has rusted and had very small holes and when oil got hot, it started to leak. Simple to fix if that is the trouble.
if its only been in a week, take it back
