Should be able to remove the oil filter by hand. Sump plug tool from halfrauds £3 not sure on a deep 16mm socket on its own though.

Basically they arent worth posting if anyone has them you may as well go out and buy them!

£3.57 for a sump key, just bought one from halfords, individual sockets arent that expensive unless they are impact wrench sockets, so you should be ok getting them new...

personally i think the club should have a massive tool set and items could be posted out to screened members to help get around everyone having to buy one..... hint hint 8)

Best bet would be to buy a full socket set, and other little tools as individuals. Machine Mart seam quite cheap...never used their socketry etc, but they look ok.

If youve got a decent budget, its worth splashing out, as good quality tools will last.

lol yeah i wasnt suggesting normal tools, but things such as service tools, sump keys, filter removers, specialist torx bits etc.... think it would be a good idea!

ai halfords stuff us good, altho i've tko'd a few bits from my set now a year n a half down the line!

bought some clarke's stuff from machine mart before, was less than impressed, bent and broke soon as i looked at it, so took it all back for refund. not passing total judgment, thats just my experience and hence opinion of 'cheap' (er) stuff

not convinced on the torx bits but on the whole the rest of the stuff is top notch, its made by a collection of top companies plus you get lifetime garuntee. only stuff i have used that is better is snap on but i would need to sell BOTH kidneys to get one of those tool kits! lol

Great idea Jon, how many people do you recon we could get from round here in NW Williams land. A mate of mine had a fully equipped unit with all the gear, two post lift, compressor, pressure wash/steam cleaner, all the mechanicing tools you could think of and he let it go for a grand cash and the remaining lease of about four years with a rent of £600/annum. There must be others.

i tried setting something like that up before mate tbh. but the units i could get that were relatively cheap were all miles away. i reckon thered be 3 or 4 interested, which is a shame really, cos a decent sized unit is getting expensive now.

wish i d known bout yer mate...id have snapped his arm off tbh lol.
