Done a search, cant seem to find much about it.

Is it really worth the agro and expense? Ive heard that wrapping a SS manifold is a bad idea, and ive also heard the same about a mild steel manifold?

I got told that mild steel will rot if you wrap it? Suppose thats why you have to paint it first

Worth the hassle then?

Cheers

In my experience i found it made some gains.
It lowered the engine bay temps being the most noticeable one.

Unfortunatly it started to come unwrapped. and soon looked tatty after general use so i removed it.

For the cost and hassle of doing it i would go for ceramic coating next time round.

I thought about giving it a lick of VHT paint, but to properly wrap it and paint it its going to cost over £50 i would have thought :?

IMO, the ceramic coating on my Williams manifold lowered the engine bay temperature by only a few centigrade (measured at the rain catcher). Whereas, wrapping on friend's cars had a much more noticeable temp drop in the bay (didn't measure it though). But the plus side of ceramic coating is that manifold almost never age at all.
