Just curious how the ladies feel about driving Clio Williams.

I ask because I can never get my wife to drive my car as she complains that it's uncomfortable and she is not strong enough to handle the clutch. She quite small size though. Another lady friend also echos her sentiment after test driving my car. Do the ladies here happily use their Williams as a daily drive? Do you need to be, eh.... quite butch to drive a Williams?

:D lol, and not exactly butch being a size 10 either.

Driving the Williams a first was as above, but it is for anyone, got used to it after a week, and yep was my daily drive for 3 years :)

It's also probably because she's just a plain commuter-type driver and much happier in her base-model Lancer. I think SnakeyLady is the other female driver and her lowered Clio must be even more hardcore than mine.

Psst.. I think northy may have some ideas about gals with Clio Williams. I would be careful of that one :)

My mate with a Willy3 shares it with his Mrs and she loves driving it too, had brand new wheels on nearly 2 years now and still no curbing.
My Mrs keeps asking if she can be insured to drive mine but i'm not that stupid!

My gf drives mine occasionally.

She drove it on saturday and some random guy in a evo was waving at her like he knew her. Must be the long blonde hair and boobs coupled with a williams that did it.

Heh, so I guess you married blokes don't have in-car conversations like:-

"Did you really needed to use the handbrake for that?"
"Can't you just follow the road instead of getting so close to the apex of the corner?"

But the one line that makes up for it all, is, whenever I am searching for a new car, "Make sure you get one fast enough". Because, she knows nothing depresses me more than getting a slow one. It must be love. :) :)

as much as i love my fiance, she is NEVER EVER going to be allowed to drive the willy, i would just get to uneasey with the way that she pretends to use clutch!

1 way to get round the heavy clutch problem.....put a clutch fork in from a 2000> clio, they a little bit longer so need less pressure on the pedal.hehe

my mrs drives mine, doesnt really struggle with the clutch, and thats with it like an on/off switch (anyone whos driven my car will tell you lol), what she does struggle with tho, is driving 6 inch from the kerb at all times....i hate being a passenger with her cos im always tellin her to move the fuk away from the kerb......shes fukkin scuffed the wheels plenty

drive her daily and yes the clutch took me about a day to get use to - now I just can't be doing with these wish washy clutches! I've always liked a car I can get my teeth into and the clio suites just fine - my daughter drives her as well and she is tiny - norrmally drives a civic with a really light clutch and she loves driving the clio.

Yes, I think the clutch can be quite daunting for anyone (male or female) who are used to light Japanese clutches, though you daughter seem to manage quite well. My worse nightmare is being stuck in stop-and-go traffic jams. Half hour of that and I have to pull over to rest my aching right leg. But, ultimately, this car is worth the pain! :)

it's quite heavy in every aspect, you really can feel what is going on in everything it does tho... even break, hence the reason you can usually diagnose Willy faults pretty easily. lol
