Hi All,
I recently bought a new gearbox for my Williams however I didn't realise that there were different types of the JC5... The williams one is the JC5 014 is it not? (thats whats on my car at the mo). The one I bought is a JC5 110.
Can anyone tell me if this is ok to use the 110 and what the differences are between the gearboxes. I went down to my local unhelpful renault dealer and I was not supprised that they could not give me any details, spec sheets or anything. They just said no without even trying...
Have just bought a new Williams clutch kit as well so I hope that will fit ok too.
Thanks
James

There is a tag attached where the bell housings join on top of the diff......alot of boxes have this missing, if this is the case it could be anything

Thanks mate - I had a good look through this and cant see anything on the JC5 110 (unless I missed it).
Would anyone on here who works for reno be able to find some information in the differences for me?
Would anyone recommend using this box or more importantly not recommend it?
Thanks
Why you need a new box, the box on that car was fine?
Andrew
a case of........'suck it and see ' i think mate tbh
iv attempted to get details of ratios etc from my very helpful reno dealer, but it depends what the box is out of originally, what engine, year etc etc etc. if you dont know all that he reckons its pretty much impossible to say exactly which box/ratio it is.
the willy box also has another code.... cant remember what it is now tho lol....denotes a recon box anywho.
sure its JC5 519 or summat similar.

jc 5s were used across the renault and volvo range.
mounting points will be different on most jc5 boxes apart from the specific Williams boxes: jc5014 and the one with the jc5 refurb code.
Laguna ones tend to have insane ratios 140 in 4th etc etc

Fitting wouldnt really be the only problem though. If the gear ratios are all over the place it could end up being a pig to drive... :(
