View Full Version : Coilover setup
Just asking for advice on something I know very little about: coilovers.
How hard is it to know the correct setup on each corner of a vehicle? Would it require weighing the car etc or can I guess/experiment? Also, if one side was incorrectly set relative to the other side of the car, surely it would make any kind of progress a bit messy?
Do many of you run these, and if so how do you set them up?

take them to deamon tweeks, they have a suspension setup machine, that weights corners and checks camber toe etc.
I mite get this dont to my car at some point. the dampers arnt set the same on both sides :(
start with the basics....put all damping/rebound etc to neutral/middle settings.
car will need corner weight staken, then along with ride-height, the platforms can be adjusted. Its abit tricky on a closed-wheel FWD car...but doable non the less.
Then set camber and toe to kinda basic settings.
then take it from there, and test on track/road to fine tune as you see fit.
ahh thanks lads :)
I know each car is different, so I guess you have to fine tune them to your car and personal tastes. One thing I would be worried about is totally botching a setup so it drives like pants. I know I could reset the settings easily enough though, but having to go to a specialist each time would be a pain.
