Spiders!

Bit of a strange one this but........ whats the best way to kill spiders? And i don't mean like jumping on them, a nest!

When i polished my 19 on sat, i noticed several little yellow spiders around the rear bumper, just under the filler cap but didnt think anymore of it.

Walked past the car this morning, and there are 2 massive patches on the rear arch, must be at least 2000 spiders in the 2 groups! All little yellow fu*%ers about the same size as money spiders.

So how should i go about getting rid? Presumably they've got a nest somewhere, probably in the back arch, but i don't know if you can buy Spider killer like you can ant killer? Plus i need something that wont damage the car.

All ideas are welcomed!!

I used a whole can of household insect spray on an ant colony, that was living in the rear cubby hole of my old Mini Clubman. The spraying was easy (and fun) but the digging them out later was jolly unpleasant.

vineger and water gets rid of most creepies they dont like the smell just rub it on the effected area not on paint though in the hole :lol:

Seriously, dont kill them unless you have to. Spiders are useful in this country as they keep pests like flies down in number.

Try to brush them off and give the little fellas a chance. :D


One of those spiders may one day eat the fly that was going to spread bubonic plague to your family. Think about it. :D

Word of warning: If you plan to kill them, make sure to get rid of all the carcasses. If not, they become damn corrosive after a while.

If you don't mind killing them, how about just hosing them away? Jet wash should do it.

well i managed 90 on the way to fcs, that just about counts as top speed... but that obviously only encouraged the little bleeders to come out from whereever they've been hiding.

Think i might brush them off tonight so Rob doesn't have nightmares about the poor things tonight(although not near to where i park so that they come straight back!), and then stick a pressure washer up in the arch and insides of the bumper...... then maybe a little sprinkling of vinegar to stop any coming back

Just hope they've not made their way to the interior!!

spiders are scum of the earth.
there's no need for house spiders, i've anhialted dozens, yet never seen 1 eat a fly etc etc. i dont buy that they keep ur house clean.

there's loads in my AX!!
