do a quick search on Gunner chips and all will be revealed, most people on here without a custom live map are running gunner chips ;o)

just as a bit of reassurance, the gunner chip isnt simply something that someone has knocked up in the bedroom, they are really top notch chips which most people on here (me included) run on their modified cars.

I have full stainless mongoose, decat, rewelded and refurbed manifold, hillpower induction kit, uprated ht leads etc... and the chip makes a world of difference.

Check my guide in the guides section to see how its done. its a worthwhile mod and is very very cheap.

Im sure gunner does knock them up in his bedroom :P

but yeah the maps wern't made there :D

also gunner has a lot of maps not just the one so they can be tailored a little to the car depending on what you are after :D

so how much is a gunner chip? i am waiting untill i get my willy manifold till i get a chip as i am running a valver one at the mo and have heard its not as good as a willy one which makes sense cos the engined was designed with that manifold

with regards the manifolds, its personal preference. The valver manifold gives good low end torque and better so than the willy one, however, it is restricted at the top end and thus the willy comes into its own. The chips run for around 25-30GBP iirc, and then have to be soldered in by a competent electrician, tv repair shops and the like. so a very cheap buy very effective mod!

spot on guy, kj16v is soldering mine this week. sent it off special delivery. bit of a pain, but seeing as every tv repair shop said no thanku, i had (once again) to reply on the forum to help me out of my woes.
The general impression i get from people is that i wont see a difference hardly, although i will find the car a bit more responsive and easier to drive. anyone care to develop on that? kj16v reckons if u got 10bhp from a std williams ud be doing well. i havnt rolling roaded mine yet so i dont have a before n after, but i shud have done really. especially as hillpower is like 2miles from my house

Cant say i noticed a huge gain with my gunnerchip, although im not sure weather i should be using high octane fuel.... but worth it for the extra 600 or so rpm over the standard williams chip

My hybrid with exhaust(doesnt do much) and itg filter (also doesnt really do much) and gunner chip made 166.5 bhp at the fly and 137.7 at the wheels.

Should piss 150bhp - don't think I've seen a good healthy willy engine do less than standard power..


Mine made 161bhp totally standard power the exhaust - I'm hoping for a bit more next time as I reckon its running better now and I'll have a gunnerchip by then

oh ok. well ill try my luck at hillpower next time im there. hey tried to get me to buy an injection clean from them lol. i cant remember but it was bloody loads. ill drop it down there n get it tested when the gunnerchip si in there

actually now u said it, im sure i remember ian at europarts in stoke once say ull often find standard williams' with over 150bhp. closer to 155 i think. perhaps i imagined it but im sure thats what he said
