Basically put new engine in, passenger shaft gaiter split, lots of oil lost, lots of cursing! :(

Am looking into whether its cheaper/easier to get a new shaft of to replace the gaiter. (dont have bearing puller)

What sort of money do shafts go for? and does anybody have one local?

Cheers Bailey.

If its not widetracked another shaft, they go for pence 2nd hand or around £50 new iirc

IIRC northys done a good guide on here but i dont have any bearing pullers so think it will not only be easier but cheaper to just get a second hand shaft as hopeully it will be widetrack city as soon as possible.

Thing is if the bearings is fine you can just remove the rubber from the bearing and leave the bearing on teh shaft, the tripod joint at the end apparently taps off with a hammer
