i thought for 280 ud need solid lifters. 270 prob best for standard head and lifters?
im sure dan isnt on solid lifter's, the 270's are re-grinds..
best cams are the ones which best meet the other items in your spec.
and fit in with whatever you intend the car to be used for.
fitting wild cams in an otherwise standard spec is a complete waste.
whats the spec to date.

^ exactly what i said to him...
catcams 5502225's are alot wilder than piper 270's...you only have to hear them idle side by side, or drive them to tell this mate...
...and these are what I'd recomend, they are perfect on stock managment and valve gear.
This isnt a sales pitch btw, as I know how tight he is...he'll spend the next 6 months trying to find some 2nd hand for £100 less than retail

Craig, are they made from blanks or re-grinds?
The engine is Standard, with the 270's in my old engine it made 172bhp Dans with the 280's made 184iirc
How much are they Stan? dont need pully's or fitting.
none of the Catcams range are regrinds....
These ones are from chill-cast blanks.
They are £450, £10 p&p.
