Toyos or goodies, have had both, toyos if you like new tyres frequently!!

A lot of people who have 16v's complain of inner wear who i speak to. Mine is terrible for it.

Am i not right in saying that lowering a car alone on the front gives wear to the inners of the tyres?

you can buy camber correction bolts to counter act this if you have lowered it substantially.

get the tracking checked, my simply be out slightly as mine was miles out and its been lowered a fair bit too.

i had toyo's on the front and didnt like them to be fair, new refurbed wheels will be put on when im back from the usa and im going to try Yoko Parada's all around as ive heard good things about them and want to give them a try.

If you can find them in the right fitment, try Falken FK452's (or the older FK451's if found cheap enough). F1's are better they reckon, but for the price these falken offer very good performance. I am basing this on a heavier 280bhp RWD car (that stuck to the road like glue :)), so I can't guarantee the performance will be the same with a much lighter car.

had plenty sets of F1's as they are a bit to soft in my opinion if you have a heavy foot all the time.

T1R's much better... better than the older T1S. Have T1R's now and will get another set again. Maybe not quite as good as the F1's in the wet, but slightly harder compound so last a lot longer.

I still have the Silverstone racing tyres on my metro gti (stored for 2-3 years lol). They mean that my Nissan Primera 1.6 handled better and had more grip than the gti. (They came with the car)

I would advise never to get budget tyres, as they even severely affected the handling.

Current clio valver has the p6000's on that it came with, and to be honest, for the first time ever I will say this... they seem pretty good! My guess is that the handling of the car compensates for this awful tyre.

lol, I know. I try and avoid them where possible!!!! If there on the car you buy not a lot you can do about it really. And yes, I know how bad they are in the wet.

Saying that, I have been surprised how good they have been, even given the horrendous amount of rain. (which have prob kept the roads pretty grease free really).

I am in no way saying you should EVER buy some, just I thought the grip would have been worse compared to what i am used to for p6000's.

Well it all depends on what you are doing !
For road use i would say Eagle F1 bit bias though as I love my Eagle F1's great for road use, but they will just melt on a track day so like Summy said too soft. Go for a Toyo as an all rounder or Yokos as they are cheapish and should do fine for hard use i.e track days.

First time i've had anyone say F1's are bad for track. Point noted.

Hedgefinder 3000's £20 each! lol i quite like the a539 yoko's i have p6000's on the back and they grip fine in the dry... my yokos are destroyed on the outside :( tracking is out looking to buy 4 new tyres possibly this weekend... need to get tracking done at a specialist because apparently at 40mm drop they cant get the lasers on the front... :(

ive got f1's they are very good tyre but my car goes through them very quick, fronts last about 6 months if that and as summah said they turn to mush on track

As above, I wouldn't use F1s on track.

Mostly because they cost a ****ing fortune in 185/55 LoL

Try falken fk252's then :) Worth a shot. I found them very good in wet and dry conditions on 17" rims (225/45 and 235/40).

195/45/15's cheaper!

And they grip the best out of all the tyres sizes ive used.

I put my 185/55/15 on while I was having my F1's ones fitted and I can GENUINELY say they are worlds apart performance wise!

But the comfort factor is like chalk and cheese! So it depends what your after!

Having now tried both i do like toyos, and will prob go back to them when these F1'a wear out, but toyos are definately noweher near as positive as F1's in the rain.

These threads always get loads of replies, I love the variety! :D

any decent track tyre won't last as long as others cos they're softer. That's obvious. F1's are great on track, sure they'll wear but you don't put rock hard tyres on for a track day unless you want you're grippy nice handling car to perform like a piece of crap.

Plus last time I got them they were £35 each so can't go wrong really (195/50/15)

running f1s on my 1.6 16v clio and the edges wear fast, I do love giving it stick round corners tho, only prob I've had with them is I've lost the front end in the wet sooo many times I'm now reluctant to push it in the rain, cant fault them in the dry tho!!

valvers currently running some "zeta" things, not hear of them before but they lasted 15mins round silverstone at speed and although they got good and hot they still came in with nearly all the tred still left on them, and gripped really well too. wouldnt reccomend them tho as its an unknown make to me :?:
